Billing Representatives are responsible for ongoing account maintenance, enrollment application data entry, premium billing invoice review and reconciliation, and provide superior customer service to internal/external clients.


This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees must have the flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours (7:00am - 4:00pm PST or 8:00am - 5:00pm PST). Business needs may occasionally require working overtime.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Research and resolve enrollment, eligibility, and billing discrepancies on premium invoices
  • Educate customers to clarify payment options, billing information, payment address, invoice due date and information contained on premium invoices and electronic services.
  • Communicate with external customers regarding outstanding balances and required payments
  • Reconcile identified discrepancies between customer invoices and ensure that aging balances on accounts are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Analyze reports against existing billing data and make appropriate changes to ensure billing accuracy
  • Review rates from Underwriting, Sales and Implementation departments to ensure accuracy before entering rates into applicable systems
  • Monitor customer account balances through research, creating data queries and generating reports such as Member Audits and Bills Issued vs. Bills Paid reports
  • Coordinate with internal partners to verify and process rate and contract information to ensure it is updated correctly
  • Use multiple reports to research, resolve, and ensure accuracy of enrollment eligibility
  • Analyze reports against existing billing/commission data and make appropriate changes to ensure accurate statement information
  • Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R)
  • Ability to stay focused and productive with changing priorities and repetitive tasks

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • Account reconciliation experience
  • Healthcare background/experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Data entry experience
  • Experience explaining billing and/or reconciliation of discrepancies
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel (data sorting and filtering), Microsoft Word (document creation and editing) and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendaring)
  • Ability to work 8 hour shifts between 7:00am - 4:00pm PST or 8:00am - 5:00pm PST with flexibility to work occasional overtime as business needs dictate


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree (or higher)
  • Experience the Facets platform and 834 membership files
  • Siebel programming experience . click

Colorado or Nevada residents only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $16.00 - $26.88.
