Strategic Security (SSC) is a leading nationwide provider of security guard services, executive protection, bomb dogs, intelligence, consulting, investigative services. There is an immediate job opening for an Armed Security Officer in SSC. As an Armed Security Officer, you will be responsible for conducting unarmed foot patrol within a government, corporate, retail or fast food environment while providing superior service to customers, visitors and employees. Additional duties include writing reports, monitoring CCTV and alarm systems, controlling access and egress, preventing criminal activity and misconduct and performing other duties as required. Functional responsibilities may include:
Responsible for administrative and coordination activities in support of security service delivery; Coordinate with customer personnel to ensure timely identification, processing and deployment of clear guards, surveillance technicians and other security personnel; All routine aspects of access/exit processes to ensure compliance with agency security; and access control policies and procedures. May conduct multiple tours on internal and/or external shifts of the facility, if applicable. Besides providing physical security, this role will participate in SSC's G.E.T. Principals greet, engage and thank individuals for patronizing their business or location. These responsibilities include:
- Greet customers, guests, buyers, patrons, customers, associates, tenants by inviting them into your location in a warm, gracious manner.
- Engage by being proactive, examples below.
- Proactively scan for potential threats arising from criminal activity or life safety issues.
- Proactively explore and build relationships with customers by assessing what matters to them and solving them
- Proactively stay current with the latest information as it relates to your site and area including, but not limited to: crime trends, terrorist threats, area stores, restaurants and attractions, brand profiles, merchandise collections, promotions and current news.
- Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create safety concerns or safety risks
- In case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons, call the alarm or the police or fire department
- Identify and warn rule breakers, such as trespassing, smoking or carrying prohibited articles
- Allow authorized persons access to the property and monitor entrances and exits. It may be necessary to use a hand-held cane or walk with a magnetometer.
- Prevent individuals from stealing company property

- Contact local law enforcement agencies
- Share that information or any of the above if interactions with customers are necessary
- Guide customers to their destination or available open lines or other key points of interest

Education, licensure and certification required
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have a valid driving license
- Must comply with state requirements for security guard licensure.
- Verifiable work history if previously employed and must include one or more of the following:
- Graduation from an accredited high school or a certificate of completion of general education development requirements; and meet one of the following experience/education requirements:
- Five (5) years of security experience within the last ten years; OR Five (5) years of civilian and/or military work experience or three (3) years of law enforcement or public safety experience.

- Must be a citizen of the United States or a foreign national authorized to work lawfully in the United States
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
- Remain drug free and remain drug free for the remainder of the contract
- Must be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Must demonstrate ability to communicate cordially and interact with the public
- Be warm, engaging, charismatic; and have a natural ability to relate to others authentically and sincerely

Environment: Indoor and outdoor, temperatures range from moderate to extreme cold and heat
