The Green Team of San Jose, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a high energy Customer Service Representative to join our team in San Jose, CA! Previous waste experience would be a huge plus! click

Schedule will be Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.

Starting salary is $37.02/hour.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Work collaboratively with other departments to resolve customer disputes and demonstrate ability to be proficient in the use of proprietary operational systems.
Interviews customers and records interview information on computer for customer service, speaks with customers on the phone and in person, to obtain installation, turn on, turn off, or change orders to service.
Completes contract forms, determines charges for requested services, collects deposits, prepares change of address records, and issues closing orders.
Demonstrate effective use of software applications, minimum MS Word and Excel proficient.
Serves customers in a manner that promotes goodwill. Communicates with customers and Waste Connections personnel to determine service requirements and resolve problems or complaints. click
Work in a fast-paced, collaborative, high call volume environment. Request sales of new or additional services.
Cover for reception desk if required.

Working conditions and physical effort:

The work environment is an office setting. The area is clean, ventilated and well lit. Our customer service representatives typically have their own workstation or cubicle space and are equipped with a telephone, headset and computer.
CSR call areas can be noisy and the work can be repetitive and stressful, with little time between calls, while still providing excellent service. Some calls are evaluated to ensure high quality.
Also, prolonged sitting, typing or staring at a computer screen is common. click

Minimum Job Requirements:

Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2 years experience in customer service.
Experience with MS Word, Excel and email preferred. Typing and 10-key skills required.
Excellent organization and communication skills.
Ability to analyze and solve problems. Collect data, compile data and generate reports.
